Targeting Rules for Social & Messaging Channels

Since 2015, iAdvize enables you to collect and handle conversations from social networks and messaging apps. To do that, you have to connect your pages/accounts with iAdvize. Then, you have to either choose which conversations you want to collect (on Twitter and Instagram) or the conversations you want to keep in your newsfeed or page/account (for Facebook, Messenger, text messages and WhatsApp).

Here are the different conditions required for you to create these targeting rules:

Condition Settings Value Comment
The tweet Contains / Does not contain Text The value has to be exact
Replies to this account / Name of the account Will collect messages sent to that specific account (@account)
Language  Is / Is Not A language available in the list of values That information is given by Twitter and not verified by iAdvize 
Link Has a link Yes / No Does the tweet contain a link or not?
Link Is / Is not Url To collect/reject tweets which contain a specific link
Author's name Is / Is not Text To collect/reject tweets written by a specific Twitter user
Number of followers Greater than / Less than / Greater than or equal to / Less than or equal to Number The author of the tweet has to respect that condition for their message to be collected
Author's biography  Contains / Does not contain Text  The author's biography on Twitter has to contain the value to be collected/rejected

The picture Contains / Does not contain #hashtag The #hashtag used for the value has to be in the picture caption for the picture to be collected.

The message Contains / Does not contain Text The value can be used with * to broaden the data collection; i.e. *bio* will also collect messages with the word antibiotic.
The type of content Is / Is not A type of content proposed in the list of values Post / Comment / Reply to a comment / Private Message
The ID of the original content Is / Is not ID This criterion is mostly used to block the reception of comments on specific posts (For example: blocking messages with marketing intent)
The name of the Page Is / Is not A name in the list of values This criteria allows users to create rules for a specific page and then transfer them to the right agents

Settings_ON_3x.pngHow to set up my targeting rules for Social & Messaging channels? 

  • Go to this part of iAdvize: Engagement > Targeting > *Channel selected*  
  • Then, click on the "+" (1) located at the top right to create your targeting rule.
  • Give a name to your targeting rule (2)
  • (3) You can activate this option to exclude every messages matches with the criteria below. 
  • Add targeting criteria (4) with a list of conditions (OR), mandatory criteria (AND) or exclusion (NO).
  • Save your targeting rule to apply it (5).  

In this case, the targeting rule will collect every private messages from the Facebook page "Cooktoys Nantes #7" and who contains the keywords "delivery" or "purchase". Then, you can route these messages to the right agents.
