Open the Shopify App Store

You must log into Shopify with an account with sufficient permissions to install third-party applications (owner, admin, etc.).

Once logged in, visit the Shopify app store by clicking here.

Grant Shopify permissions

The app requires some Shopify store permissions to work properly:
  • View personal data:
    • View Customer info such as the customer's contact details, or their order history
    • View Store owner or Content provider info like their name and email contact address
  • View and edit store data:
    • View product catalog data for knowledge management
    • View customers' Browsing behavior, edit store analytics, and edit online store information to manage tags and view web pages content

Click Install to grant access and proceed:

Connect to the iAdvize account

The first step of the installer is to connect to the iAdvize account on which we want to install the app.
Click Connect to iAdvize to proceed:

An email was previously sent to you to create a password and activate your account.
Fill in the login and password to log into iAdvize:

NB: If your account has multiple projects, you must select the specific project (website) where you want to install the app. If you only have one project, it will be automatically selected, and this step will be skipped.

Click the Link Project button to proceed:

Product Catalog synchronization & Transaction tag

Upon logging into the iAdvize account, the product catalog synchronization will automatically begin in the background, requiring no additional action.

Simultaneously, a knowledge source titled "Shopify knowledge source" will be generated within iAdvize.

Additionally, the transaction tag will be automatically implemented on the checkout pages via Shopify’s Web Pixel extension.

Activate your Copilot for Shoppers

Step 1:

This initial step lets you install tags (main tag, custom data) on the Shopify store.
To proceed, you should access the online store customization page by clicking the provided link. This will open a new tab displaying the Shopify theme currently in use.

In the new tab, you must ensure the following:

  • The iAdvize tag toggle is turned on in the store theme
  • Click the Save button, at the top right corner, to apply the changes

Once changes are saved, close this navigation tab to return to the installer.
Then, click the Next Step button to proceed.

NB:

1. You can activate iAdvize tag on multiple themes, especially if you frequently change your store's theme. To do this, customize the desired theme of your Online store. Select the "App Embeds" menu on the left. Then, toggle the "iAdvize tag" option and click "Save" to update your theme.
2. The main tag has not been implemented on checkout pages due to Shopify's security enhancements, but this may change in the future.

Step 2:

This second step allows you to choose the web pages from the store that will be used to create a "Helpful Content" knowledge source.

NB: Only pages managed directly through the Shopify online store will be listed. Pages managed by external applications are not available.
Select as many pages as needed, but only include those with helpful content (FAQs, guides, advice, etc.). Avoid selecting product-specific information to ensure Copilot functions properly.

Select the desired pages and click the End app setup button to complete the installation.

App Homepage

Once the installation is complete, the application's home page will be displayed. This page allows you to view the features configured during setup.

Two actions are available:

  • Open iAdvize admin center – This option enables to access the iAdvize admin panel and review the created knowledge sources.
  • Edit – This option allows you to revisit the installation setup to modify the tags or update the list of web pages selected for the Helpful content.
