The Cross Selling feature allows your Assistant to suggest complementary products during a conversation. Its goal is to increase the average basket value without disrupting the customer experience.
1. How it Works
Cross-Selling enables the Assistant to recommend complementary products (accessories, associated items, etc.) to the visitor.
The Assistant performs only one Cross-Sell per conversation, which is subject to two cumulative conditions:
- Prerequisite (Product Question): The visitor must have asked a question about a product.
- Trigger (Closing): The visitor expresses their intention to close the conversation, thanks the Assistant, or states their intention to order. (Example: Thank you, That's all I need, I don't need any more help, I'm ready to order...)
The Cross-Sell is then automatically offered.
Conversation Example:
- Visitor: "Is this phone waterproof?" Product Question (Prerequisite)
- Assistant: "Hello! Yes, this X10 model is water-resistant up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes."
- Visitor: "Thank you, I don't have any other questions." Closing Intent (Trigger)
- Assistant: "I'm glad I could confirm the durability of the X10 phone for you. To ensure long-lasting protection for your new device, you might be interested in our silicone shockproof case which absorbs impacts for optimal safety, or our tempered glass screen protector which is virtually invisible and easy to install." Cross-Sell Triggered
2. Prerequisites
If you have set up your catalog from Shopify, activation is automatic.
The Assistant relies on your connected product catalog. To enable Cross Selling, you must:
- Add a field in your catalog, named : crosssellproducts
- Fill in the product IDs of the complementary items (separated by commas)
- Map this field with the Cross Selling field in the iAdvize platform
The Assistant will select the first 3 products from the provided list. Make sure they are listed in your product catalog and in stock.
Only one Cross Selling suggestion is made per conversation
