Advanced privacy policy management [Europe only]

European legislation on cookies and personal data protection continues to evolve, requiring websites to adapt. At iAdvize, we understand these challenges and offer you several ways to ensure compliance.

This article details the different options for managing your privacy policy on your website, with or without synchronizing iAdvize with your Consent Management Platform (CMP).

For more information about the cookies used by iAdvize and their retention period, you can also refer to the article iAdvize and cookies.

1. Manage your legal consent solely through your CMP

NB: A Consent Management Platform (CMP) is a tool that allows websites to collect, manage, and store user consent for the use of cookies and the processing of their personal data.

Your Consent Management Platform (CMP) manages consent for iAdvize independently: this option is the simplest and fastest way to get started with iAdvize.

By implementing this, it is not necessary to request additional consent when starting an iAdvize conversation. It is an easy-to-implement solution, but keep in mind that iAdvize will not appear for visitors who decline cookies.

2. Coordinated management between iAdvize and your Consent Management Platform (CMP)

This option is recommended if your Consent Management Platform (CMP) is one of the following four: One Trust, Axeptio, Didomi, and Trust Commander.

The advantage: you can display iAdvize for all visitors to your website, whether they accept or decline cookies. For those who decline, you remain compliant by activating a legal consent prompt that will be displayed at the start of the conversation in the chatbox.

Next, the activation is very simple, with just three steps:

  1. From your Consent Management Platform (CMP), configure your CMP to manage consent at the vendor/partner level, or create a specific category (e.g., conversational cookies) to include iAdvize
  2. Go to the iAdvize App Store:
    • Select your Consent Management Platform:Capture d’écran 2024-10-10 à 15.09.29.jpg
    • Fill in the vendor-id field as declared in your CMP (For Didomi, you may need to add the category-id field if the vendor-id is not available).

Here are examples of vendor-id formats according to CMPs:

         -
      V30 (One Trust)
         - iadvize-EMEcCc9Z (Didomi)
         - 27 (Trust Commander)
         - iadvize (Axeptio)

  3. Activate legal consent from the chatbox, for customers who have refused cookies, in Engagement > Settings > Privacy (read this article).
