WhatsApp - Channel activation

iAdvize allows you to create a WhatsApp Business account on your own.
This article guides you through the creation of your first WhatsApp Business account.

3 things to know before you start:

  • You must already have a Facebook account in order to create a WhatsApp account.
  • It is necessary that the user who will create the account has an administrator role on the project in iAdvize AND ha has to be the administrator of the Facebook account to which the WhatsApp account will be attached. 
  • The account is a Business Account, not an Official Business Account. If you want to create an OBA please contact your account team.
  • If your iAdvize subscription does not include the WhatsApp channel, contact your account team for more information about this as well. 

 

 

1. You already have an active WhatsApp Business account and want to keep it

iAdvize can migrate your WhatsApp account from your previous provider to iAdvize. To do so, contact your account team to schedule the migration of your WhatsApp Business Account.

2. You do not already have a phone number

iAdvize is able to create the phone number for you in the following countries: 

Danemark.png Denmark

France.png France

Finlande.png Finland

Allemagne.png Germany

Porto_rico.png Puerto Rico

Espagne.png Spain

Sue_de.png Sweden

Royaume-Uni.png UK

Etats-Unis.png USA

If the country does not appear in this list, please create the phone number in your systems and go through step 3.

2.1 Create WhatsApp number

After selecting the project for which you want to activate WhatsApp in the iAdvize back office, go to the "Engagement" > "Settings" section. Choose WhatsApp from the drop-down menu.

- Click on “Set Up a New account”. Check “Create a new phone number on WhatsApp”.

- Enter your account name. This name will be the one shown on your business profile in WhatsApp, and thus displayed to visitors who send messages. 

- Enter your e-mail address. This address will not be visible to visitors. This address will be used by whatsApp to verify your identity (so make sure you have access to the inbox of this address).

- Select the country of creation of the number, the country code you enter will be used to create the number.

- Select the System language. This language will be used to send template messages to the visitor, click here to learn more. This language does not apply to the agent who will process the conversation, nor to the visitor who will send messages.

iAdvize then displays the phone number assigned to you for the WhatsApp account you create.

- Copy the number and keep it aside, you will need it later.

- Click "Continue" to associate iAdvize with your Facebook account and connect the WhatsApp account to your organization in Meta. 

Meta will ask you for some information to create and customize your account.
- Fill them in with the information relevant to you.  
- Fill in the phone number provided by iAdvize in the previous steps. 

Choose the SMS verification method

You will receive by text message the verification code of your phone number. This code will also be sent to you by email by iAdvize, to the email address of the account that is opening the channel. Please note that Facebook will ask you for this code to finalize the account creation.

2.2 Customize your WhatsApp Business profile

In this space you will be able to edit the look&feel of your WhatsApp account.

 - Add the url of your site.

⚠️  Warning: the URL has to specifically match for the one from your Website, because this link has to be functional.

 

- Edit the "about" message which is a short description that appears in WhatsApp for users who search for your company in their WhatsApp contacts. 

- Choose and upload the image that will serve as the background of your business profile.  Once uploaded, iAdvize will show you a preview of this image.

2.3 Account validation

Once all these steps are completed, your account is submitted for review to WhatsApp. You will be notified of the status of your application on the "Engagement" > "Settings" > "WhatsApp" page.

3. You already have a phone number

3. 1 Associate your number with iAdvize

After selecting the project for which you want to activate WhatsApp in the iAdvize back office, go to "Engagement" > "Settings". Choose WhatsApp from the drop-down menu.

Click on “Set Up a New account”. Check “Use an existing phone number”.

- Enter your account name. This name will be the one shown on your business profile in WhatsApp, and thus displayed to visitors who send messages. 

- Enter your e-mail address. This address will not be visible to visitors. This address will be used by WhatsApp to verify your identity (so make sure you have access to the inbox of this address).

- Select the country of the number. Enter the phone number you have without the country code.

- Select the System language. This language will be used to send template messages to the visitor, click here to learn more. This language does not apply to the agent who will process the conversation, nor to the visitor who will send messages. 

- Click "Continue" to associate iAdvize with your Facebook account and attach the WhatsApp account to your organization in Meta. 

Meta will ask you for some information to create and customize your account. Fill them in with the information relevant to you.  Fill in your phone number. 

You are free to select the verification channel of your choice (call or SMS).
